If your looking for marine gps software for your computer to carry on your boat you should really consider checking out DIGINAV. Their software DVD comes with all NOAA nautical charts. They even have a complete system that includes a usb gps receiver. Its a very affordable product.

You can check them out at http://www.diginav.us

Can anyone say Van Halen???

Can I review the product? Well, since I am the owner of the product and I only have as of now 2 posts, I don't think I have enough power to be creditable. But, maybe one person here would be willing to accept a free DVD and give a review of the product. Someone with respectable rank on the forum of course. If your willing to do so then please PM me your mailing address.

As for the ICU2 member, I have nothing to do with that person. This is my first time on this site so please do not affiliate me with that member.

Yes, I used to own a Compaq 16 and I loved that little sailboat. It was my first sailboat and first time sailing. What a joy it was...

The reason why I posted here on this site under this topic is because a customer recommended the DIGINAV DVD on this site.

I did not feel as though I was out of place by sharing the product with members here on the forum. I am not trying to argue or get into a debate over this situation but if I am wrong for doing so then please forgive me and remove the post.

It's OK that you have a product to sell - there's nothing wrong with that. But you must understand that you can't look at this forum as "free advertising". There are advertisers on this site - but they also contribute to helping members. It's even OK that you may not have a lot of boating experience and wouldn't be able to contribute as much as others. Heck, everyone has to start somewhere.

Here's the issue that I see: Your first post was an underhanded, sneaky way of trying to sell your product. You pretended to be just an average Joe recommending a product by saying things like "their software DVD". It's not theirs, it's yours.

You should have taken the time to introduce yourself, state your mission and what you can offer the site. You should of also read the forum rules where it says that to be able to sell things, you need to be an official vendor.

This is a very HUGE forum - you didn't make a good first impression.
