Well I guess nobody likes my info, I'm still grey:lol::smt043:lol:

At least I'm not red.

Keep up the good work Jim not everybody thinks you suck. (Are we breaking one of the rule? Can we use suck?)

I'm sure it is going to take some time for the system to work. Most user know who they can trust and who is just full of BS anyways,
Yup. No one likes me either. Sniff.

I still enjoy the heck out of this site anyway. . .and I have bought stuff from Jim as well!

OK, I have tweaked it a little more. Now you have the option to turn off reputation for your account if you want. It is in your usercp under "Options".
Mine is turned off for now..........a black block shows up on your postings when you do this.

Bridog,

Click UserCP, On the left there should be an edit options, then the first section in the middle will need to be clicked, It will be on the second selection. I hope that makes since.

I'll add that there is no way this wont turn into a popularity contest. Diesel vs Gas, Tiara/Four Winns vs Searay. Point systems? Time out's? Are you kidding me? We are adults and can make our own decisions. If someone tells me it's ok to run a portable generator in the engine compartment of my boat and 20 other members tell me no...then shouldn't a reasonable adult figure out what the right answer is based on participation here? That's what this is all about isn't it? Sharing information. Some, maybe even learned from mistakes. I think that Wesley, Dave, Richard, and Jim do a great job at moderating and if someone is a constant "A-hole" then shut them down. You dont need us giving you the green light (or red square). It may not be popular with certain "clicks" but... so what!! It's still better than a system of points, green boxes and time outs. Now that's my 2 cent's. Hopefully I won't get a negative 10 points deducted from me for stating my opinion. I now know why Jeremy wanted no more to do with the SeaRayowners site. What a shame. This used to be the best boating forum out there.

And yes Wesley... I read "Who moved my cheese" :)
But did you apply what you read to your life? Great post btw in my humble opinion, even though we disagree on the points system, I would have given you a point if you had it turned on for that posting.

We can't even get new members to put their boat info in their sigs, how are they going to learn the dot system, rules, sponsorship, member map, youtube subscriptions, I can't even keep up. I need to take a class before I can post. Why are there even different color dots if you have to wave over them?

Not much to add to that post Brian. Well said.

Well, I'm not as vehement about it as Brian, but I do agree that it will become a popularity contest. In a perfect world color buttons would be nice, but since when do we think this is a perfect world?

Finding information on this board is just like any Internet research...you need to evaluate the source and do some background reading before you put any weight on the info you obtain. Those who have been reading the board for a while have a pretty good idea who to believe, and any newcomer who blindly believes the first response he/she receives gets what they pay for.
