Question! Does this unit have the auxiliary function , and the auxiliary RCA cables in , on the back ? Can you email me a pic of the wires on the back , also is the wired remote 6or8 pin , I jus want to ad simple Bluetooth donagal to my system ?

 

It does have the Auxiliary function which we used for the TV. Ill be going to the boat later today and will check out the pinout and take a pic. I did not consider being able to add the BT dongle to it. Too late now though as I pulled the trigger on the Fusion upgrade.

 

I have the CMD4 and have a JBL MBT-RX wired into the six port and it works flawlessly.

Thanks for the info , it looks like I would have to change the aux CD player also , my plug different ,and the sat radio receiver may be different, I was just looking to change the head unit with little work as possible , I’ll look into it more

I have a 2006 320 with the CMD4 system, too. I just added the Fusion bluetooth accessory to one of the aux rca jack inputs and changed the old Clarion speakers out to new Polk Audio. The whole system now works great and still has all original hardware. You can search my bio here to see pics of the project. Was very simple, though, once I figured out which rca wires were the right ones for aux in

 

Now I really wished I looked into just adding the BT instead of the up grade.
Oh well, it’s only money and I needed a gift for my wife. Now all I need to do is convince her that it’s her gift

 

I just want the head unit. Will you sell me just that or are you only selling as a package? How much? How much for the package and how much for just the radio if you're willing to sell separately? Where is it located?

I have the same set up in my Whaler Conquest but the head unit CD player constantly spins and it's annoying. the rest of the components work and sound fine.

Do you know if the XM receiver will work with an XMD3? Looking at the pics it seems to have RCA outs ... or does it use the CeNet cable?

For once my procrastination pays off for someone
I was seriously going to send this to ewaste, as a matter of fact my brother took a load in this weekend and he called me to see if I had anything to get rid of. Luckily I forgot about the clarion system sitting on the same shelf as other stuff a told him to dispose of.
What all would you like. As I said, it’s yours for the cost of shipping.

 

Carp diem is that cmd4 unit still available? I’m looking for a used one. Mine suddenly started to always try to eject the cd even if there no cd in it.

 

I will have a look but I think I either gave it up or sent it the e-waste.
I will look for it and let you know tomorrow afternoon.
