@scoflaw Oh boy. If in fact the water pump
I should be calling in the pros? Sounds expensive and intimidating
A bit intimidating because of the V Drives. Access is going to be the biggest issue for you. The engine is installed with the belt and pulleys facing the transom.

The accessory bearings all seem to spin, except the sea water pump.
The sea water pump should turn with a little force. It should not “spin” or freewheel like the alternator or idler pulley. You should feel the resistance of the rubber impeller blades as they are compressed.

If everything spins smoothly quietly it's most likely the water pump. When was it serviced last?
Unfortunately, we found out only after our purchase that the previous owner only changed a battery in the 9 years he owned it (he only drove it about 2 hours each season). So, my guess is that the last time the boat was serviced (except for the things we have fixed since) was when he bought it in 2014. I am afraid of what else we will find despite a clean survey...

We replaced the impellers about a month ago, as well as bilges and through hull valves..

Our 2003 320DA: the starboard engine would
Not start up right away. It would
Crank but didn’t start until we utilized the emergency start (two times this wasn’t required and it started up without the emergency switch)
The belt makes a high pitch noise when the Engine starts after not using for a Few days. There’s a Rough idle and we have to Move throttles to warm up or stalls out.
All batteries have been changed.
Any suggestions? Thanks very much!
If you need to add throttle to get it to start it could be the Idle control unit, i had this issue last summer on Stb engine, needed to increase the throttle to get it to stay running than it was fine. the cost if i recall was$190 I have 8.1mercs
