You need the spacer kit as well. I will get you the part number. Just give me a bit to find them. This mounts underneath the throttle assembly giving it more height so that it does not hit the dash at WOT. Also, there is a trim harness which I ordered to adapt the old trim to the new one. But apparently my mechanic didn't need it. He just cut and marine butt connected the wires and it works perfectly but I will give you those part numbers just in case. Give me some time this morning to track them down and I will forward.

My boat is an 04 but there is no difference in the 05 as far as this throttle is concerned.

Good afternoon ladies and gents. I have 86 SD 300. My throttles seem stiff as hell. Starboard reverse is the worse. I'm almost 80 but in good shape for my age. I really have to muscle it sometimes. I had new cables installed 3 years ago and barley took it out in 24. Any suggestions? I put WD40 on them but starboard is still stiff.

Was it ever better or was it stiff even after the new cables? Did you do both sets of cables? From the throttle to the engine, and then the lowers from the engine to the drive. I'm assuming you have outdrives. Then inside the outdrives are shift linkages with ball bearings and detent springs. Are they original? Is the actual throttle assembly original because that has springs and detents in it as well and that might also be worn out based on the age of the boat.

I had all new stuff from front to back done in 22 I think. The shifters are the originals as far as I know. As to the outdrives, I had them done the same year. As I remember, they were fine in 23. Like I said in my original post, I was unable to take it out last season. When I took it out solo last week, they were difficult when trying to dock and operate in tight places.
