I just bought (today) a 2001 270. I've been looking at the web for a week or so and this particular model is kinda scarce at times regarding aftermarket support and general info. Is there a reason why? Is there another model that I can use for most things, like can I look at 260 or 280 parts in that same year and it will likely fit?

Thanks!

It's hit or miss for a bunch of the older boats and owner's manuals. They lost their online data a while back. That's pretty nice, though, that they were able to get you a copy. However, you can sometimes go a year or two in either direction and find the manual that way. As long as it's the same model, it really doesn't matter.

Online parts sites and boats don't really go together at all, regardless of model. It's nowhere near as inclusive as cars... not even close. The way to find parts is to look for the actual part you are looking for and forget about using your boat model in the search criteria. Also keep in mind that anything engine related has absolutely nothing to do with the boat - they are separate entities.

What are you actually looking for? Your manual (download from SR's site, too) will have part numbers for all the boat-related items. But at nearly two decades old, many of the things that Sea Ray built themselves will no longer be available. Most aftermarket supplied items will still be available and/or will have newer replacements. FYI, the part numbers from Sea Ray are internal numbers and don't often relate to internet searches. But if you look at the descriptions and seach that way, you can usually find what you're looking for.
