First time here!! We got a 1998 SD210 a couple of years ago, fantastic boat. Has anyone had experience with installing an aftermarket swim platform? We're thinking a the small half-moon style that SeaRay had as a factory option that year. SeaRay no longer makes them so aftermarket is the only way. There is very limited space behind the engine. Looks possible, if you're small with long arms!! Anyone done this? Thanks!!!

Not really "hard" - just a bit awkward depending on the friends you have and/or the tools available (lifts, forklifts, etc) to help you. I might suggest, though, that if you're going to do this... skip the wimpy little half-moon and go for the full size platform. It'd be money WELL spent to get the big platform.

I know it doesn't exactly apply, but i have a www.swimplatforms.com platform coming for my 1998 SR Bowrider 210. I ordered it Monday and based on their last email, it should be shipped out this Friday. I am very excited for this upgrade. I can take pictures of how its crated, during the opening, and during the install process if you want. As far as customer service, they have been amazing so far as far as replying to each and every inquiry in a very timely fashion. No email has gone unanswered. Their website might have a picture of your vessel with one of their platforms installed.

If you get one definitely go with swimplatforms.com and not another one with a similar name in Washington State.
I went with the other one originally and ended up having to sue the guy because of the shoddy workmanship.
I then bought from Swimplatforms.com like I should have in the first place and it is such a nice looking and high quality platform.

Thanks for all the input!! The local dealer actually said that they may have to remove the intakes or even pull the engine to get it installed! I kind of doubt that since he hadn't seen the boat yet. We've looked at the swimplatforms.com units and they seem to have a very good product. Again, thanks for all the responses and keep 'em coming!!!
