Hey, I never got the Oars with the 260RU it a 2006 Zodiac. I am buying the Oars: Z6425PR / Oarlocks Up graded with Stainless shafts ( from Defender)
My question is do I need these "Oars Clip" Z2815?
How do these things mount? Do I need something else?
Thanks. John G

John, the clips keep the oars from flopping into the water. Personally, I use them, and I'd get them. Look at this picture. It's hard to tell, but you see them just to the right of the oar blade nearest in the picture. They slide onto a glued on "knob", visible in the second picture, next to the strap. Might not be worth it if you don't have the "knobs" on your dinghy. Mine is a 240LR.

Thanks for the reply. I don't have the knobs so either I can buy the knobs or wait till the Oars come in a see how they stay on. John G

John,

You only really need the knob and collar things if you plan to use a motor and want the oars secured to the tubes. If you are just going to be rowing the Zodiac, they are more of a pain to use. We just row between our dock and mooring and it is much easier to just stick the blades criss cross in the bottom of the boat at the base of the transom. We often leave the dinghy tethered to the mooring on Friday morning and come back Sunday night to find everything as we left it.

We do use the Motor on the dingy most of the time. The Oars are just for when the Motor runs out of Gas ): I guess I can just attach them with small bungy cords to the lines.
RE: running out of the store with them? I need the buttons that most likely are attached to the dingy with glue. I guess I will need to bring my pocket knife with me :)

The pop and hiss might be a giveaway, so you better bring a distraction

LOL. I learned when I was young ( before age made me smarter and boring ) If your going to be a thief... go for the big ticket items. Go for the electronics and than i can buy a brand new Dingy with all the extras :)

John ,get some type of locks we just came back from watch hill and discovered one oar must be floating in the bay somewhere. And they where in the holders all snug,, I have to secure them better the bay was very rough on the way out friday we took a beaten and things where flying all over the boat so we must of lost it on the way out.
