I have just been notified by my marina that the Anodes on my Bravo II outdrives have been changed from Zinc to Aluminum and if I have any questions as to the changeover to refer to my Owners Manual. Does anyone have any information or comments on utilizing Aluminum Anodes. The boat is used in Saltwater, every season the Zinc Anodes have had to be replaced mid-season. Thank You. [/b]

This is from MerCruiser website.... For salt water you want aluminum..................

"All MerCruiser sterndrives come standard with aluminum sacrificial anodes & 3-year warranty against certain types of corrosion (see your owner's manual for more details)
Bravo sterndrives are also equipped with a MerCathode, optional on Alphas.
Magnesium anodes are suggested for fresh water use ONLY & can be purchased from your authorized dealer.
Anodes & sterndrives should be inspected on a regular basis for signs of corrosion. Do not paint anodes.
Not all anodes are created equal. Don't sacrifice your sterndrives protection with the use of poor quality after-market anodes."
