Does anyone have experience with the wear rate on one of these?

My boat is trailered and used in fresh water only. I do put around 150 hours a season on the generator but wonder if the anode would be ready for replacement given it's not sitting in water at a dock year round.

Thanks

I replaced mine just this year after getting the boat used at the end of last season. It's an '03 and shows about 130 hours indicated. Just guessing I would say the anode I had in there was original because it still had the white paint all over the brass bolt.

It was worn pretty good - I'd say down about 60%. I'm in brackish water. I think unless you drain it it could still be "wet" all the time if there's water in the exchanger.

I did lear they only make one type of anode - zinc, for the generator. Hope this helps.

That's what has me curious, from what I understand zinc won't react in fresh water, so would it ever need replacing in my situation ?

Our anode's show almost ZERO wear here on our lake. The dealer says our water is neither acidic nor too much base. Being fresh water lake I guess is easiest on anodes. My '05 has original ones and they look freakin new, unreal. Knock on wood that is :)
