Before I go and order the anode I thought I'd get some feedback from the genny experts here. I checked the anode and it looks like it can use replacement. The boat is now used in freshwater only, so I'm wondering if it's even needed. I don't see magnesium anodes available, which is what is used for freshwater outdrives, and I don't see any info on this doing a Google search. BTW, this is a Kohler 5E genny. Any ideas?

Yes, I guess I'll go ahead and use the zinc also. I also use the magnesium on the outdrive, which is recommended for freshwater. Funny, only 2.48 for the anode on Amazon, with 8.10 shipping!!!

Yes, boatzincs.com is where I get my outdrive anodes, but since the shipping was the same for any quantity on Amazon I bought 3 genny anodes, for about 15.00. That should last me quite a few years in freshwater!

Anyone know where the zinc rod is on a 6.5 Quicksilver Generac? Its supposed to have one, but I cant find it anywhere where its supposed to be. Its supposed to be in the exhaust somewhere?
