ZF 80 IV to Cat 3126 intermittent reverse on start up then fine

Before you guys get all wigged out and order this stuff drop me a note; I may have what you need and can drop it into an envelope. There are minimum buys; no sense having to buy 100 when you need two. Those crimpers in the photo are over $100 now.

Nice
I’m currently at the Miami boat show
I’ll look tonight and see what I need
Appreciate you guys

Curious what prompted you to swap out the control valve assembly? Symptoms not go away, or preventative replacement?

For me, replacing the second one was preventative MX due to pump pressure being well below spec.

When I added temperature and pressure senders on my gears like ten years ago there was no need for connectors. The Dwyer pressure sender had a connector integrated, and the temperature was a simple ring terminal on a stud. There was no need for separate connectors. Here was my install on the 400DA. When did we do these mods Dave? @dtfeld
I'm pretty sure I posted all of the part numbers.

The crimp connections in question are for the new control block solenoids. The new solenoids use an EV1 fuel injector connector, and must be crimped and assembled. Much better connector than the old AMP blade connectors.

My pressure and temp senders are basic VDO, and were spec’d by my analog to N2K vendor…they had predefined calibration curves. They are basic spade/ring terminals.

Ah, got it. Thanks

Transmission Marine hooked me up... $700 I picked it up. painting today install this week, I will research the connectors but thing I am good when I had my new solenoids installed last year, the shitty tech guy did the new style connectors

The new control block has much different solenoid valve and electrical connection as pictured above. The old style solenoid valve had an Amp connector...

The good news is that tool will crimp either version. It was purchase for the old Amp style, but you can remove the holder block and use it to crimp the new connections just as easily.

Old style just for clarification...
