Ok Ive been away from boating for about 3 yrs and be land locked waterways never change or so I thought. When I bought my Sea Ray last week I started looking up the Colorado parks. Seems someone introduce Zebra Mussels into one of our Lakes. So with in a 3 yr time frame now there are more rules and inspections each time you enter or leave a lake or other reservoirs
My Question is how many other States have them?

I'm not sure how many states have them in their lakes, but I know not all lakes have them in every state. The lake I boat at, Texoma, on the Texas/Oklahoma border didn't have them until last year. At least they've been reported.

The biggest contributor of spreading them to freshwater lakes are fisherman going from lake to lake. Many often compete in tournaments around a state or in surrounding states and unknowingly introduce them to an un-infected lake.

I've read that as long as you bring your engines up to running temperature once a month, you'll reduce their growth. However, it won't help much for the intakes and other areas they'll try to grow.
