After reading about all of you that have removed the carpeting in your boats, I decided it was time to do something, so with the help of a floor specialist, that never did a boat before, but was willing to try a boat, here are the result IMG_5752.jpgsIMG_5752.jpg.IMG_5762.jpg.IMG_5756.jpg.IMG_5763.jpg

Hope you can see these could not make them smaller...R.Blatter

No, it is your fault for me. The Admiral just looked at your floor and said "I want that.". Is that Pergo or solid planks? Also, how did you fasten to the floor?

The flooring is engineered wood of course, it is : http://en.preverco.com/iiix/home/ red oak. The trim was attached to both sides, around the hatch and the floor part. The best part is that all this was fastened to the floor with two way tape, just pre-cut all the pieces, looked like a puzzle. Then the guy put on his tape, put some weigth on it and done.. The beauty of this job is that on the sides the flooring goes into the ramaining carpet, so there is plenty of room for expansion, and the use of two way tape permits flexibility. I am off on vacation this morning, so when I get back I will post my friends 310,1998, who also got his done at the same time. My wife loves it... now that is what is important..right!

Forgot, trim was nailed, with tiny finishing nails.. Also want to mention, that we got a sample of flooring offered on the new Searays from our local dealer. It was engineered wood, but not as thick as what we used. We could have used narrower planks, but more work to install. It took 20 hours to do the whole job. For two boats we used 90sq.ft of wood, with some left over. Will have the area under the table done this fall.

Thanks for the quick response. Have a great vacation.

With just double sided tape holding it in place does it make any noise or squeak when walked on?
