I just purchased XM weather module, for my Garmin 4008 but want six months free Sirius radio. The issue is that I need to upgrade the antenna for weather and do one the following:

1. Subscribe to XM weather and radio. Route the audio,(from xm weather box) to aux input of Clarion, e.g. no ceNET Sirius connection. Am I correct to assume that I can split the aux input to the radio?

2. Buy an antenna splitter and run one antenna connection to Sirius box and the other XM weather module.

Anyone completed these mods? Would appreciate ideas/thoughts.

I'm a pretty consistent Sirius listener and have been seen inception. Besides Stern, which is childish yet amusing, I love the sports options, NFL, etc. We have 9 or 10 Sirius subscriptions, which pisses me off because several are on portables the kids "can't locate." We also have 2 XM subscriptions because the oldest 2 kids just both got new Honda's and those don't have Sirius. That being said, they just put the Garmin 5212 in my 460 - and I got the GDL 30A or whatever is the XM weather - from everything I studied and reviewed, XM weather is the best nautical service available. Maybe I'm wrong. But, for $4 more I got the XM audio and for $2 more (per month, on both) it included "the best of Sirius." The other option was to add the Sirius receiver to a Jensen radio and have both on the boat, which I thought was overkill. If you already have a subscription with either, my experience is you can call them and pretty much negotiate anything. One nice thing they both do is "suspend" service, so if you are only using the boat, a car, etc. seasonally, they will stop service until you call back to reinstate and leave any prepaid credits on your account. Assuming they're still in business then...
