Looking for the stock rear seta from a sundancer. Mine came without one. Even if it is in poor or rotting shape, I'm still interested.

Thanks,
Max

Shouldn't be too hard to make one if you don't have any luck tracking one down? I'm sure you can get measurements from somebody here and the hardware can be bought at McMaster Carr. i bought new hinges from them for mine and i saw the legs on their site too. all you would need is a sheet of plywood, and a good upholstery shop and a long hinge?

I think the issue is that I don't really understand what they look like or how they fold up. I'm been replacing most everything else on the boat including side panels, swim door, and anchor door, so I'm sure I could build it if I knew the dimensions and exactly how it bolts into the hull. A youtube video would go a long way.

i can try to get measurements from mine tomorrow. should be the same. i will get pics too

i got pics and videos but will have to upload and post them later but i do remember it was 59.5" wide...lol. will add pics later tonight

mods: would you want to move this to a more appropriate section?

here are a few pics. it is actually 58.5" wide, not 59.5".

i will try to edit the videos and put them on youtube and give you the link. i narrated so it would be easier to understand and i have all the measurements in the videos

backrest

channel on rear fiberglass for seat back

piano hinge

not having much luck with the videos but for now here are the measurements:

seat bottom about 58.75 x 15.75 - it can be a little bigger or smaller depth wise so that is up to you there. being off even 1" either way shouldn't matter. be sure to seal the wood with something to prevent rot

backrest 58.75 x 7.5". there is room for this to be taller but not really necessary as it will just go lower behind the seat bottom and not make any difference in comfort

legs - about 11.25" long with rubber pads on the bottom. .78" ID. can't find a source for these but shouldn't be hard to find. just need to make sure the ID is right for the hinges

piano hinge. i would think the heavier duty the better here. it doesn't support any weight as the seat bottom rests on the 'ledge' anyway but i would still try to use a heavier hinge if i could find one

channels for the backrest to hook on to. not sure what you could do here but a couple of strips of 1" aluminum offset and attached to both the wall and the back of the seat back would provide that channel and should work if all else fails. this looks like the same thing. apparently they are called french cleats. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Hangman-...EHrw0DID7BM6HNPh-6PEX7gAYWV3DZuHg8aAjP28P8HAQ

leg hinges. these are the exact same as the factory Sea Ray hinges. i have used these to replace my cracked ones (folding table leg brackets #1173A21. https://www.mcmaster.com/#hinges/=17ei9lo

This is really awesome, thank you very much for taking the time to put this all together. One question though, where does the backrest go when the seat is folded up?

no problem at all. the backrest just slides up and off and you can store it wherever. i put mine down in the cabin. there isn't much of a way to do anything else with it that i can see.

oh, and if you do decide to build your own make sure to post pics of the progress
