I am getting the wrong seawater temperature reading on my simrad. Everything else reads fine. Depth reads fine. Any clues? It reads in the 50 degree range when I know the water is closer to 80 because I am swimming in it. Thanks

If the transducer is a DT800 or DST800 they are known for failing, I had two crap out within a year. You can put an offset in but it won't stay consistent because there's probably water inside of it.

New unit? Old unit? If it's a new unit was it calibrated?

When the temp sensor on the transducer starts to fail, it will begin to read high or low. I get about 5 years out of an Airmar B60 before the temp begins to fail. Mine second one started to read high (130° F) temps this year. As long as the depth continues to work properly, I'm not going to waste time hauling and replacing it again

FWIW transducer elements fail when they are turned on when out of the water. They overheat and burn out. Unplug the the transducer when you tern on your electronics when on the hard.
