I had no idea it would be this hard selling a classic 270. It was priced right all year. Started at $16k (high I know) then have dropped it to $10k.

I've revised the price to $8. If it doesn't go this week Ill be parting it out. Let me know if anyone wants the engines.

It could be the OMC drives that is causing lack of interest. Good drives, but starting to get harder to find some of the parts.

Sorry you are having a rough time selling your 270. We just bought a 1988 270 at the end of last season. Frankly, I have wanted this boat for 20 years. If you go the parting-out route, please let me know. Our "new" Classic is need a few cosmetic and functional replacements: fuel gauge, switches, and maybe some interior sliding panels.

i do hope you find a home for your 270. I personally like the lines and function of the older Rays.

Mambo,

I am honestly surprised at the troubles. She is a classic. That said.... The general population is still damn scared of the economy. If she doesn't go at $8k, are you able to store her until the next election an see what shakes out?

This has alot to do with the lack of interest.

I had that identical boat/drive combination. I sold it in 99 when finding parts were not as much of an issue. My phone rang off the hook. Once they found out it had Cobras, nothing but dial tone. It was quite an awakening. Someone finally came along and bought her. Good luck, those are awesome boats.

Man, that would be a shame to part the ole girl out...That is way too nice of a boat for the scrap heap.

Do you have a trailer with it?

ya selling with an OMC is tough. Ask me how I know. But still you wont get a whole lot by parting either. I would keep it intact and lower the price till it sells. Someone will come along.
