Look what just got listed in our area. Nice lookin' boat. I'd like to view it just to see how the "other" side enjoys the lake

Weird it doesn't mention anything like engine hours, service records, heating A/C system etc. Maybe by "Lakefront cottage" they mean "it doesn't run very well". :smt043 Tad overpriced too I'd say?

It is a nice looking boat, but it makes you wonder about whether it runs good!

The pics are of a 95 or newer i belive the arch didnt lean forwards untill 1995.

That's an early model. The dash suggests VERY early in the production run. (the arch was fwd even on the early ones)

WAY over-priced!

We ran into a number of ridiculously priced boats in our searches. A lot of these folks are under the impression that the rented annual moorage is worth more than the boat. The worst example was 23' "Cruisers" that was completely shot, including mice, and the guy wanted over 20 grand. I'm not usually rude but after traveling for over an hour to view it I had to ask him what made him think his boat was worth anything at all. His response was that most people see the value in the moorage.:smt021 Go figure eh. This 630 is still a gorgeous boat.

It's only a couple of footitus Chris.,........go on you know you want it

I love the old 63sss
would love to have one ...and some water to use it

Can you imagine the care and feeding required by 20 year old, 12-cylinder, 2-stroke Detroits in a boat where the PO bragged about how fast she goes?

OUCH!

That probably explains the "Lakefront cottage" portion. You have to keep a fuel line strung to the dock....

the part of the ad I get a kick out of is you can't have the tender but moorage and the tow rig are negotiable. A semi and a trailer ought to be fun at the ramp.

Chris,

If I'm not mistaken, that's George who owns (owned?) Katana boats in Penticton. That boat was up our way a couple of years ago. He was anchored in front of City Park for a few days and then came over to Shelter Bay to pumpout, grab ice and water. It's huge...

Mark,

I remember seeing it now that you mention it. We actually had him and his buddy pose for a picture on the bow for us, it was a hilarious moment. There were a whole wack o' girls sunbathing on it too, hmmmm wonder if maybe I SHOULD pop down there to have a look. I'd love to view it but I'd hate to waste the guy's time. I'll wait 'till the Seattle and Vancouver boat shows to get my fix of big an' beautiful boats. The problem with looking at 60+ footers is that usually, on the way home, I convince myself that a couple of extra feet is justified, and then the visious circle starts all over again.

Amen...my wife does 10 feet at a time ..she say's the next will be a 50'+
(god love her)

I've been on one at the LOTO's....it's HUGE.....crews quarters under the aft deck.....hydraulically lifted 42" flat screen on the stern....ridiculous.

Not knowing real estate values in this beautiful region of Canada, a boat can make sense as a second home. It is certainly roomy. We look at our boat as a cheap condo. It goes to all the places we have considered owning a second home and does not have real estate taxes, monthly HOA fees, etc. We enjoy the same views as the locals, have made many friends in the areas we visit and pay only for what we use. Maybe the 63 makes sense in this context.

I think this was it,,,,, 2009, Mark. Where does the time go,,,, eh?

Edit; has that new bridge been in service for 5 years already?

The 630 above is a later version of the one shown in the first post of the thread. That first boat was actually hull #1 and we were dockmates with it in Algonac for several years until the gentleman passed away and it was sold (at a much, much lower price than the ad suggests; he owned it for twenty years). Compare the railing on the two 630's. The first one was not Coast Guard approved and I believe it was a one off model with lots of Italian interior fittings. Beautiful boat and those twelve cylinder Detroits have a sound of their own. (Roller, you know the boat...)

Wow Chris, was it really 5 years ago? Ya, that bridge has been there for that long.

And you pic is the same boat as the Castanet ad. He uses some of the brochure pics but the picture of the boat in the water is the same as your pic. You can see the bow rail is the same, the tender apparatus at the stern is the same and that looks like a beach down near Penticton in the background.
