I went to my first outing today. This is a great group who put wounded vets (Iraq/Afghanistan) on kayaks, paddleboards, etc. We had about 20 persons total, and I was with two young men who were both injured in the past year. It was great to see them on the water and paddling on kayaks. I'll get them out on my boat soon as well. People like us, who are fortunate enough to have boats should consider going to the local VA hospitals/out patient programs and asking if there are wounded vets who would like to take a boat ride. As you know, many of the injured suffer PTSD, and go through various states of depression getting over their injuries, so getting them out on a boat for an afternoon is a good way we can give back to the people who have sacrificed for us.
