Would you rebuy your last/prior boat?

My buddy, divorced wife #1, married her sister, divorced her, remarried #1. Been married 3 times, kept the same mother-in-law.
I had a buddy, he was engaged to get married, and he spoke to his future Mother in law. Told her, I don’t want to marry Betsy, I really want to marry Debbie (her other daughter) and the MIL said “whatever makes you happy”. She didn’t really mean that. 40 years later he is still married to Debbie…

I did it once - the guy I sold it to picked up a bag or debris and overheated it. He asked me to fix it and I did for hardly anything. Then he ran it in sand and overheated again. That time he asked me if I wanted the boat back. I bought it, fixed it and sold it again - but never saw it again.

My previous jet boat spent 30 years running all the local rivers for different federal departments. It had crazy history in the surrounding area and was a legend within the DFO and SAR. They really wanted it back but someone in Ottawa had their own agenda. Anyway, the history thing was really cool when bumping into the many that knew it. For me it was time for it to go as it only got pulled out of the garage a couple times a season. Sadly, it went to another province and along with it's many stories it had.

I've had many boats, including blow-boats, bigger and smaller, some newer. This '93 Sea Ray 290 DA is my favorite and likely my last. I am confident in it in any weather that I can handle. It's well built, comfortable for us and our dogs and has stood the test of time. Most of it is original except for the new power and drive 5 years ago. I like the look of the traditional and older boats. The Starship Enterprise designs do not appeal to me. The previous owner knew how to look after his boat and I carry that on. Soon, it will again be in covered storage for the winter.

“Starship Enterprise design” love the term, dislike the look. Agree.
Last week we passed a new Carver, wife said What the hell is that! I think it was a boat, or an alien UFO floating.

I have a buddy who’s wife died. A year later her sisters husband shoots himself. The sister calls my buddy to come help her (do you know you have to cleanup the mess yourself?) they took the body away and my buddy never left. They are still together 3 years later

Well this thread took an interesting turn! Let me see what I can do to help recover it. Yes, I’d buy my prior boat back. I took good care of it and did some nice upgrades. The new owner appears to be taking even better care. But it’s a Dancer and I wanted a DB. So for that reason I wouldn’t buy it back.
