Hi, The Deck Hinges that hold my Canvas have some wear so the Removable Pins with the retractable balls are loose. They don't fall out with normal pressure but under extreme conditions 25 MPH speeds and heavy winds they have worked themselves out, almost lost the rear canvas
other than changing the Deck Hinges are there any better pins?
Thanks John G.

Ok, Thanks. That looks like it will work. I guess the one side spreads open to stop the device from slipping back through the hole?

I guess I can't assume the size is standard. I did download my Parts list, But I don't see the pins or there sizes.
(I guess it calls for a trip to the marina )

Correct, that is how they work. Yes, they are standard size - should be able to get them just about anywhere. By the way, the ones I purchase when replacing the ball-style have the "keyring" and SS safety lanyard attached. That way I can still attach them to the bimini pole (so it doesn't fall overboard if I take it out).

Ok, Ordered all 8 Pins / with Lanyard from Defender dot com. (2 for 15.95 )
Spent an hour researching the Screws for the Lanyard Looking at a #10 Wood screw Stainless Steel ( #316 not #302 of course ) Defender only had self-tapping screws.
I figure a couple of more hours to choose the sealent / Type of Drill bit & Size of bits for the pilot hole and the actual finish hole. Then of course the Type of Tape used to prevent scraching. (-;
Thanks all John G.

Or:

1) Drill a hole into the bottom area of the pole socket and rivet or screw the lanyard in place.

2) Back out the screws holding the bimini mount to the deck or windshield. Then slip the lanyard eye-ring under the mount. Re-attach the screws with one of the screws going through the eye-ring. You may/may not have to enlarge the eye-ring's "hole" a bit to let the screw pass through.

I can't tell from the picture, but the ones I have at the store always have a protective, clear, vinyl covering over the actual lanyard.

Drill bit size should be slightly larger than the screw shank - whether you drill into fiberglass or metal.

I bought them much cheaper Here @ Marinepartdepot.com

It includes the lanyard too. Make sure you refasten with Stainless rivots which requires a more powerful rivot gun.

$3 ea is not too bad.

The Deck hinge is cheap also....
Off with the old on with the new!
I hope the holes line up?

It'd be odd if it didn't.

Those are awful cheap prices for those pieces. I hope the quality is there - only time will tell. Does it say who makes them?

Hi, No name. So I just ordered 1. Why not No tax & No Shipping. The No Shipping ends today, but they alway say that. Just like the " going Out of business sale" that you see on the same store for many years. JG

No tax and no shipping?!? Jeesh, maybe I oughta start ordering my supplies for the store from them!

I will let you know how it turns out, You know "when it sounds to good to be true...." They took Paypal so at least they don't have my Credit card info if it doesn't work out" John g

Got a delivery on Friday. Too bad it was not my parts. Wrong Order. Jezz... I guess you do pay for what you get. 2 e-mails, No Reply. Ugh. John. G.

Yes! Got new delivery today. Parts look good. Heavy, chrome looks nice but No cable for the lanyard. Have to check if they where actually included John G

Glad you got the right stuff.

Make sure they're SS; you don't want chrome. Or, are you just using chrome as a generic term? I don't think I've ever actually seen these in chrome, but....

Yes, I think they are SS. Even though there was no lanyard I still thinks its a great deal. The Pins are heavy duty and how often do I realy need to remove them to drop then in the water and at those prices who cares.
So, after all If you get your items your lucky. Poor comunications. I still have the other oder and I am trying to return it but they don't reply. John G
