wont plane with weight

just as the title says... it does just fine with 2 people and goes right on plane..... add a 3rd and smaller dogs and it struggles... also I noticed no difference in speed while at half throttle and full??? im assuming these might be the same issue... things to look at??? props newer and did the same thing with the old prop

what does your rpm max out at ??
My 78 240 with a 260 merc didn't like 6 people in the back even with the tabs down...but with 3 it jumps out of th water with full tab.

Did you replace the prop with the same size & pitch? You state that this is a newer prop & it did it with the last prop too.
I had something similar on my old 260DA but not as extreme a condition as you describe. I had trouble getting to plane even with full tabs, kind of slow out of the hole and only achieving approx 3,500 rpms at WOT.
When my original prop was not repairable (not OEM as it was a SS prop the previous owner installed) the prop shop asked what boat I was putting it on. Once I told them I was informed that it was the wrong size & pitch for my boat. I took their advice & changed to what they recommended. It was a night & day difference! I would recommend calling a reputable prop shop & ask their opinion on your current set up.
