Thanks for preserving our freedoms which allows us to have weekends that include stuff like this! :smt038

Northshore, thanks for opening this thread. It's just about the perfect topic because it would be difficult for anyone to offer a contrary opinion, it's a topic we can all unite behind, and many of us who have been there and have the t-shirt to show for it appreciate the thanks.

Glad to live in a country where every person has a chance to rise to the top and be the best of the best. We live in a country of true heroes who live in harms way so we can do what we do. I and my family are forever in debt to the fallen, the wounded and the ones still standing on the wall and in the gate of freedom.

Cannot be stated enough. Thank you to all who have and currently serve in our armed forces and our local police departments.

It is the most misused piece of realestate on the planet. If you took away, the touch-and-go's done by the flight school that is there, The air show weekend would account for more takeoffs and landings in three days than the total of the rest of the year. No joke. I had jury duty a few years back which was in the federal building 7th floor which has a good view of the runway. For the entire three days, again take away the flight school, almost nothing happened on that airstrip.

The Cleveland National Airshow has been done on Labor Day since the mid 60's and before that it was the National Air Races. This year was probably my 20th show. Love seeing it, especially from the water but man what a waste of some prime property. When I worked sports car races, the Cleveland 500 was held there and it was a horrible excuse for a track, especially with Mid-Ohio just an hour down the road, but that event probably brought more people to that airport in a weekend than air passengers for 5 years.

Here's my little Airman!!!! 21 yrs old. And damn proud of him!! And his fellow troops. He goes for pre deployment training in December .thanks to all who serve and have served.
