On a '96 450DA, got a question on the wiring diagrams.

Does anyone know of drawings to tell which of the numbered/color coded wires go to their respective tabs on the electrical switches on the instrument panel.

For instance, on the first switch, FWD Bilge, there are 3 wires, and is there a drawing that tells you wire 311 goes on the bottom tab, 310 goes on the middle tab, and the black wire goes on the top tab?

This one was easy to work with. The windlass has got 8 tabs on the back all loaded with wires.

This the problem when one goes to Scotland 2 weeks before going on a boat trip, has the local boat mech do the instrument panel and when i get back, the engines begin to crank when i turn the ignition key on, and now the windlass light is constantly on.

Got the engines squared away, and i switched wire 537 on the top left tab of the windlass control as you are looking at the back of the switch with the white/blue wire and now the light is off, but not sure if this is the correct solution. I can control the windlass with the foot pedals, no matter what happens with the switch at the control panel. Heck, this may be the windlass works.

If there is a drawing out there that tells which wires go on to the specific tabs, hallelujah. thanks.

Dang, got some radar install work going on too and was hoping the doctor would be around. guess even sea ray doctors need to take vacations. thanks

I go to Florida to go boating...its a way of life; not a vacation!

In your owners manual in chapter 12....I think.......look for the 12VDC schematic or wiring diagram. Each wire is numbered both on the diagram and on the wire. You have to know how to read the schematic to determine the type of switch, but once you figure out if it is a single pole or double pole, a single throw or double throw switch, or a momentary contact switch you can easily tell which number wire goes where.

I think I have a copy of the wiring diagram on CD if you cannot locate yours.

talked to the SR guy in FL and he was really helpful. Got the wires correct, but still had the light on.

He thought the solenoid was still engaged and had us go down to the bilge and tap it a few times to see if we could get it to release.

It didn't work so now my windlass switch on the panel has power to it all the time.
