Well, I do my own winterizing but I just had my boat in the shop to replace port side trim sender unit. So, I was talking to the guy on what he chargers per motor to winterize. He charges $200 a motor, and plus he charges you for a fuel filter. He doesn't pull the thermostat and replace it, he basically runs the motors with a cocktail mix in the fuel filter for 15 minutes in a dunk tank.
So, what kind of prices are other people seeing out there to winterize a motor? $200 for a single motor with no thermostat change or anything seems like a lot of profit in my book. I spent about $42 on the marine antifreeze and that got me about 16 gallons of it. I used this for both motors and the fresh water system and the a/c. Fuel filter was like $8 dollars, 2 stroke motor oil was like $4 and the fuel stabilizer was like $9.
It just seems like a lot of profit to their pocket.
Oil change he told me was $65 a motor plus labor.
Change drive lube was like $60 plus labor.
