I am looking at winterizing and storage options now that the end of the seasons is around the corner. As this is my first season I am looking to see if anyone has any suggestions for who they have used for storage and winterizing. I purchased the boat from Clark's Landing and keep it in Kent Narrows so I looking at that as a option however any feedback would be appreciated

I would start by asking your dock neighbors who they use and if they're satisfied with the service received for what they pay. If you're new to boating I'm not sure I'd suggest you winterize it yourself. I look at it like this--if I pay someone to do it for me and they guarantee their work, that's like buying an insurance policy to cover the work.

If you do it and don't get it right, it's out of your pocket to make it right next spring.

Pay to have your boat winterized. I agree with asking some of your dock mates who use someone, but avoid the people who tell you to just do it yourself.

You have many systems that need to be winterized:
Engines, Head, Generator, Fresh Water System, Anchor Wash down (if you have it), etc
If you miss one of mess one up you'll come back in the spring to busted pipes or even bigger issues.

I have PWM winterize my boat every year and it's also when they do the oil changes and change out the fuel filters on the engines and generator.

Also, have you had your boat out of the water at all? I alternate one winter in the water, one winter on land. This gives me a chance to have maintenance completed on the bottom of the boat such as paint, zincs, etc.

It's not inexpensive, but I highly recommend shrink wrap as well. You'll come back to a much cleaner boat in the spring and it keeps snow and ice from accumulating on your bow or near window seals. (had an issue with that two winters ago)

Thanks for the feedback I definitely do not plan to attempt this myself
