Winterizing 2003 280da in Canal in NY

It's almost that time of the year! This spring I was a new owner to a 2003 280da and now that winter is coming I am trying to figure out what to do. I live in Babylon, NY and I am thinking about in water winterizing. Has anyone local done this and what are some of the benefits compared to hauling into my backyard?

If you have done this, please let me know what to look for and where to winterize. I am also trying to figure out the correct mixture in the fuel filter for fogging the 4.3l mpi mercruisers. Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

The only advantage for leaving it in the water is next spring your not at the mercy of the crane to get back in the water. personally I would haul considering you have and out drive, you can put in your back yard and you will need to do a short haul anyway next year. Most importantly if you do decide to leave it in, be sure your zincs are in good shape.
