Hello there...
New to the forum. I've been reading for a few days. Looking for some help on how to winterize the AC Unit on my 05' 260 Sundancer. ( I already bought a Camco by-pass kit)
Anything special on winterizing a Horizon engine?:smt100

Thanks,
flyfig

The easiest way to winterize the A/C system is to pull the hose off the seacock (after you shut the seacock of course)and put a garden hose in it. Put the other end of the hose in a bucket filled with pink antifreeze and turn on your heat. When the pump kicks on, it will suck the antifreeze into the system. When pink starts coming out of the outlet on the side of your boat, shut the system off and reconnect the hose to the sea cock. You'll need another person to help because you dont want to run the bucket dry and get air in your system. It should take less than 2 gallons to get a nice stream of pink coming out of the outlet. Hope this helps.

MAKC,

Thanks for the reply and help. I winterized the boat by myself with minor help from the marina mechanics, they were great (12/7).
After seeing how they winterize the AC unit, I was totally amazed on how little time it took him to do it, about 20 seconds. They had a container with antifreeze in it and an electric pump connected to a power sourse (in this case was a battery). A garden hose came out of the container, which it had a normal garden nozzle (gun/squeeze style). On the nozzle they had an attachment, which look like a suction cup with a hole in the center. They placed the nozzle on the outlet located on the side of the boat and squeezed the nozzle. When anti-freeze came out of the bottom for a few seconds (after clearing all the water) the mechanic stopped. Literally, it took about 20 seconds. $Chi-ching$

That is the way to do it.
