We just found out our winter storage spot is no longer available. Does anyone have any suggestions for indoor storage for a 30ft Sea Ray on a trailer? We have found a few buildings available but we would have no access to the boat until 5/1/14. Being able to do some minor repairs is top priority! :smt100

We are Milwaukee boaters but, we go to Maritime Storage in Port Washington. You receive a card that activates the doors for easy access. Its Heated, Very Clean, bight lights, hot / cold water, nice rest rooms and is best storage I have personally seen. Take a tour, Call Joe at 414-491-1559
Whalen is also up in Port and is a few bucks less but, not nearly as nice.

Escapade, Thank You! We are taking a tour of Maritime this afternoon.

Bella - sorry for being late to jump on, but you may also want to give The Boat House in Racine a call - that is where we are storing and they are open every Saturday all winter long. Call Jeff Hopkins (847) 508-2127. Very nice and clean. They are on the north side of Racine on Douglas Ave.

Thanks for the suggestion, DaFish. We signed the contract and paid for the winter season at Maritime. Super nice people to deal with and beautiful, heated, well lit storage buildings. They even gave me a lesson on how to use the huge pressure washer there! Needless to say we were sold! Escapade, Thank You again!

Bella Luna-
Glad you like Maritime. Carol and Joe are boat people and great to work with. Witch building are you in? Mike

Mike, We will be in the East building, backing in the tall center door from the North. We did mention you sent us, so you should get a discount for that?

Dafish, The rate is $6.00 per square ft., much cheaper than the going rate of $8.00 in the Milwaukee area. Almost all storage facilities will allow no access to the boat while in storage. At Maritime you can do anything with exception of sanding off bottom paint for obvious reasons. http://www.maritimestoragefacility.com/

Consider Skipper Buds in Winthrop Harbor... you don't pay tax on storage there.... and their inside heated is quite clean.... Plus, they have a ton of gear to move boats, so if something happens to a smaller companies sling - it won't stall everything...

Even at $6 a sq ft, I couldn't imagine that I would find that worth while, given the extra fuel cost for getting up there, and the long times to go back and forth if you have winter work.

We live in Waukesha, so the drive to Port Washington is about equal to the drive to Winthrop Harbor. There is a Skipper Bud's here in Pewaukee, but once again, no access to the boat while in storage.

The winter access issue is also a challenge at the Skipper Service Center on the KK River where we were last year. The weekend access did not start until mid March - a short time to get anything done on your boat, and the place was dirty. The Winthrop facility appears to run by different rules and levels of customer accomodation.

I stored at Skipper Buds -Winthrop Harbor. They are doing some work and I am doing some work on the boat so I got stored on the floor but they gave me the rack storage rate.... I can access the boat but during daytime hours....

We just love Pugh's in Racine, WI they have indoor heated and outdoor storage options but fill up by the middle of August.
