I just did a search and noticed that a few members have replaced their window vent actuators with one from Progressive Linear. I am interested in how they hold up in salt spray. The company claims it can only handle light splashes from fresh water. Are there any other options other than the $500 Sea Ray part. Mine is a 4 8p CE. Thank you in advance for your advice.

I've not heard of anyone on CSR having the Progressive model fail. I recommend their products and have had good service from them via telephone as well. That said, a bit of anti-corrosive spray applied a couple times a year and routine clean-up always makes sense.

Back about 5 years ago, ordered the Model PA-14-4-35, and have had no problems. I did have to change out the 12vdc connector on the unit. As I best remember it was about $130 including shipping.

After you remove it and before spending the money, take it apart inspect and clean it. I removed cleaned and reinstalled mine now works fine.
