Here we go Sea Ray guru's, I am having a issue with the aluminum frame separating from the glass on the port side to the point that u can actually see between the glass and the frame, what is causing this and how do I fix this issue? Thanks

Pics and/or a better description?

Is the screw still in there (bottom corner, by the walk thru)?

Hope u can see in the pic the area I am talking about. The frame is raising off of the glass where the arrows are. All screws seem to still be intact and the windshield supports are in place and all screws are still there.

Hmmm. Interesting. Do the top corners (by your walk thru) look normal? I know you said the screws are there, but all I can figure is that the top rail of the windshield has risen up. Usually you can tell when two things have changed positions (vertical rail and horizontal rail in this case). Maybe the screw hole has elongated? Maybe take the screws out and see what you see?

Does the frame look bent? You mentioned this is happening on the port side, but the pic is showing starboard side. Is it happening on both sides, or can you compare one side to the other?

It is only happening on the port side I just have a pic of the starboard side for reference. As for the walk thru it has never really lined up perfect but I have just dealt with it. I took it apart yesterday and compared it to the other side and it seems to be fairly close with no bends, I got it back down and looking better but where the rear part of the frame meets the fiberglass it is raised up and I am gonna have to try to get a wrench in that small area to hold the backing nut but I am afraid that when I tighten it back down it will lift the frame off of the glass again. I guess it will just be a mystery. Thanks

Well, definitely keep us updated and I'm sure this info may come in handy for someone else down the road. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but it sounds like you're doing pretty much what I would. Good luck with it.

Just another thought... if the walk thru is skewed such that the top corners are much closer to each other than the bottom... I wonder if that is, in part, the problem. Unfortunately there is no permanent fix for this condition. Having the walk thru skewed is actually pretty normal due to all the flexing that a boat goes through, but I wonder if yours is more than normal. The only way to occasionally "fix" this is to push the sides of the windshield outward: Put your hands on the top rail (the side, just past the corner) and brace a foot against the opposite side dash.
