The 18" windshield wiper blade on my 1997 280SS is shot.

This thing looks NOTHING I see in any Autoparts store or marine store. Any good place to get one, or am I going to jury-rig something from NAPA?

I do not know if it is the same one but I have a 2003 260 and got the wiper online for $5.97 compared to Sea Ray's $40.00. Mine was a 16 inch wiper from ANCO for a Ford truck. I got it from www.ryderfleetproducts.com.

I recently tracked down replacements for the 18 and 14 inch blades I needed for our 1994 30 Weekender. I looked in several auto parts stores and couldn't find anything close - so I finally broke down and asked one of the guys behind the counter. He said I would never find that part there because it was a heavy-duty truck part and off the top of his head he identified it as an ANCO 53 (the part number is from memory). As I started to head for the door he asked if I wanted him to special order everything. It took one day to arrive at the store and two replacement blade inserts and one new blade assembly was about $22.00. If you would like me to double-check the part number let me know and I'll try to do it tomorrow night.

Anco? Ok. . .I will give them a shot. At first glance, the ryder cataloge cuts show the arm looking like everyother automotive arm. . .but I will look harder tomorrow.

Thanks for the tips!

I checked this evening and the replacement 18 inch wiper refills were Anco part number 53-18. I couldn't find the 14 inch refill for the center wiper so I had to order a replacement blade - that part number was/is Anco 52-14. Hope this helps

Go to any trucking supply store and tell them you need a wiper blade for a Ford “L” series truck. Bring the old one with you for visual confirmation. Should be about $12 / each.

Please let us know how it goes.

Definately will report.

Unfortunately, I left the wiper on the boat. I have now taken it off three times to take to stores. . . and reinstall it when I take the boat out in dodgy weather (It was quite dodgy the entire July 4th weekend). So. . .won't have any news until next week.

Last week I replaced the wipers on my 380 SD. I bought the whole wiper assembly (not just the rubber blade) in the length that I needed. Then, I removed the attachment clip that was on the wiper I bought, and replaced it with the clip that was on my old wiper blade (since it is attached with a nut and a bolt). Everything lined up perfectly.

Then, connected the wiper blade back to the wiper arm, and that was it.....done deal!
