I own a 40’ Searay motor yacht. 2005 aft cabin. Anybody know how to get to the wiper motors? Where are they located. How to access?
Any help would be appreciated.

It may be accessible through the speaker cover in the salon. When I bought my 390MY, one of the speaker covers had water stains. The Broker explained that it was from a leak at the wiper motor and had been repaired. So, I assumed that the fix happened through the speaker cover. I imagine that the speaker will have to removed to gain access to the wiper motor. I have not done it myself.

It should look like this in shape (hopefully without the water stains) in the aft ceiling of the salon.

That’s what mine looks like. Less the water mark. I thought that might be the case.
Thank you!

I had the same thing on my 390 MY.
Remove the wiper arm (I used a small puller) then un screw the nut underneath. I re bedded it with byutl tape.
As for the stains, remove the speaker grill, move it counter clockwise about 1/4 inch and it can be pulled down. Them remove the screws that hold the speaker and unhook the wires. Finally remove the caps that cover the screws that hold the large mount to the ceiling. I took the mount to the canvas shop, they cut a new one out of plywood and picked a Naugahyde that matched the ceiling. I took a sample to Lowe’s paint department and had them match the color. Got some screw covers from West Marine and painted them. Put it all together, no more leaks and it looks great.

This really helps! Which way we’re you standing to rotate the cover? Towards to bow or stern. In other words which way is counter clockwise?
Again, thanks!!

I had a water stain like that and eventually the wiper froze solid. it was not the motor but a rusted spindle, easily replaced once the motor is in your hands.

counter clockwise to undue the nuts. The wiper, using a small puller comes straight up off a splined shaft
