My newly acquired 2000 SR 210 BR Select was without both working horn and wiper motor. The horn replacement was fairly easy but had to create a mounting surface to attach to the "fire wall" in the anchor compartment. The old bracket did not fit the new horn. The new horn is not particularly loud but you don't want something that could scare the beegeebies out of your forward passengers.
The wiper motor is a different situation. The electronic control module circuit for the wiper motor was non-functional. Pushed the wiper button at the console...nothing, no click of the relay at the electronic control module underneath the dash. Took out the old single speed motor, smelled burned out, but had a little life at bench level. Disassembly revealed a smoked winding. Ordered new motor. New motor is two speed with park, four wire, three 12v inputs, one gnd. Found replacement control module on ebay for $200, but it was of the single speed type, and the key pad at the console could have been faulty. Moot/obsolete situation. Bought a 4.7" x 4.7" lexan box suitable for three SPDT/center-off switches plus a fuse holder. Jumpered red/12v off the control module box to fuse holder, thru 5a fuse to center terminal of control switch. Output terminal to center of 2nd sw for two speed control and the the other output terminal to the park connection. GND to GND. Third sw is future. When mtr was delivered the transmission plate was set for rt. park, I needed left. Couldn't budge the screws for the change over. Sent mtr back to supplier to change. Next time I will use a soldering iron to warm screws threaded into nylon base. Mounted sw box adjacent to the control module underneath dash, reachable. Good bit of effort for a wiper I will seldom use with a runabout, but I wanted it back in operation. Our storms on the Tennessee River carry lightning. I am heading for shelter at first sign. Wiring goes straight up to wiper motor.
