I was changing the rubber boots at the base of my wiper arms as the original boots were shot and leaking black streaks. in removing the wiper arms to fit the boots, the part that goes on the drive shaft and essentially holds the arm in place. The part looks like this:
I believe it's known as a "knurled driver". I thought it would be simple to obtain a replacement from Prince William Marine which has an excellent parts department. When I showed the parts manager the part, she sighed and said "not another one!" She's seen two other owners in the past few days with the same issue. The problem is that Sea Ray provides the knurled driver only as part of the wiper motor assembly. She's working with Sea Ray to come up with a less-costly solution and I expect she'll eventually succeed. I'd like to fix mine soon because I've got some trips planned and it seems to rain every day around here. I've found the part on a couple of bus and truck part sites but in several sizes and it's unclear to me how the part is measured. So, I'm posting this in hopes someone has obtained this part and could provide some pointers.
