windshield vent actuator

Probably. Coming out of my dash are two wires: Blue & Green. The new actuator has Red & Black. For a test, I connected the wires with alligator clips to test the polarity. Of course, the first time I hit the "Open" vent side of the rocker, I got nothing. I reversed the wires, and viola, she opens. Ultimately, the wire connections were: Blue-Red and Green-Black.

I bought a new actuator, spliced the plug end from old unit and plugged it in. I get a clicking noise from what sounds like under the helm, but no movement. The old unit had a black and yellow coming from motor. Black goes to actuator piston base and the yellow went to plug. A red comes out of actuator base and goes to plug. The new unit had only red and black leads, no jumper between motor and actuator base. I connected black to black and yellow to red and get clicks.
Is there a relay, the click sounds like that to me. Do i have wiring wrong?
Sorry but mine only had two wires with the replacement I bought. I'm sure someone on here knows exactly what's up. Good luck!

The wires protruding from the grommet on the boat (after I cut off the old actuator) were just bare wires. The new actuator had a plug. I cut the plug off, used a butt connector after I confirmed correct wiring/operation, then used heat shrink over butt connector.

Thanks, I have a locking spade plug connector. I ad to splice to the new actuator, maybe I reversed the wiring. Just my luck, after I spliced and heat shrunk ETC.
