The windshield on my 89 Amberjack is in need of some repairs. The seal or glass bedding has shrunk over the years and is allowing water to run down the inside of the channel of the window frame. Is a Taylor windshield. Any one have any experience with repairing or re-bedding this? Is this seal available any longer? Does the glass have to be removed to reseal? Do not want to go the goop/silicone route. Somehow I don't think this is an easy repair.
Thanks ....Jake

What I did for all my weather stripping on my 87 268 that was shrinking like yours was carefully remove the rubber and clean it then soaked it in boiling water to soften the rubber. I then stretched it out just slightly longer that was required on a bench and clamped it down. Let it sit over night then re installed it, worked well for me and saved lots of $$$ Good luck

Good to know...Did you have to remove the glass from the frame? Or disassemble the frame to remove the seal? Was hoping I dont have to take this off the boat to repair.
Thanks... Jake

Nope I left all glass in and used a little bit of black outdoor silicone on the corners to seal the cracks and joints in the seals also thinking that after it cures it will adhere the seals and prevent them from shrinking again.

Ok, great. Thanks for the info. Will have a better look at this once I get her launched (hopefully this weekend) and see if I can make this work.
Cheers...Jake

Good luck and have a great season!

Most likely you will need to remove and rebed the glass to get the correct seal.
