Does anybody know what and where to get the silver metallic paint for the windshield frame. 2006 300 Sundancer Thanks, Jeff

I don't but my frame is peeling away too! What a garbage set up that was. I was just going to try and match as best as possible. Let me know if you find an exact match.

I wish I could give you guys some tips here. My windshield was bubbling up badly too. I decided to remove it while I had my arch off last year (for repainting) and had it powder coated. The silver was an exact match and they put a clear coat on top of it so I am hoping for long term durability. Good luck with the touch up! That certainly would have been much easier!

Yea, the powder coat would be the best bet, but I just want to touch up the bad spots. Will let you know what I find.

The frame is aluminum and aluminum is going to corrode if the paint barrier gets broken or the aluminum frame is not kept waxed. I don't think it is fair to call the aluminum frame a "garbage set up" when you leave it out the sun/salt and after 8-10 years it begins to corrode. You would probably call the $8,000 option upcharge for a stainless windshield frame crazy as well.

But, here we are....you have corrosion, so how do you repair it. It can be dome, carefully, in place by removing all the corrosion down to bare metal, acid etch, spray with a light coat of zinc chromate, spray with an epoxy high build primer, then top coat with a silver metal flake automotive paint. Buy a pint of paint and apply it with a Preval sprayer. Its is some work, but not brain surgery, and will look better than factory when you are done.

Yep, thats the plan, just want to make sure I get the proper color top coat.

When holes are made and screws for the bimini top supports are put on at factory that spells disaster immediately. The paint is chipped/broken and corrosion will begin from day 1. That's why I called it garbage. If painted and no holes were drilled it may last for many years.

I believe this is one of those dissimilar metal issues, stainless on aluminum. Repaint, fluff it up, but it's still a lipstick on a pig kinda deal. Will reoccur , nature of the beast

Certainly doesn't have to be lipstick on a pig approach. Use TefGel when you insert the screws/pop-rivits/etc. and the dissimilar metal corrosive action is eliminated, if you use the gel properly.

Here is something I found from Taylor Made.

Dear Jeff,

We do offer touch up paint. It is $34.95 per 12oz can. There is also a $25.00 per order service fee.

Jeff, I knew they had a touch up paint a couple years ago. I was a little taken back by the $25 fee (just principal), so I didnt order any. Last year I called back and they told me I couldn't buy from them, had to order from a dealer. My local dealer could give me no info, and just this month a reached out to another dealer and never got a return call on the paint or my part inquiry. Please keep me/us informed on how you make out. Thanks, Mike

Well, $25 service fee is steep for me too, but by the time I get a dozen cans of touchup paint from the auto parts store, and try and match up, I'm just going to bite the bullet and give them the $25.

Just ordered 1 can, out of NY in case that helps you Jersey Mike.

I have a 2006 300, and she said it would match.
Our sparkling silver paint would match.

Sorry, didn't know there was such a demand, or I would have bought a case. Maybe Jersey Mike can run over to New York and get a case?? Don't know if they offer pickup? Mine can will ship out in 5 - 7 days??

"Salty" as I call it but then again everything in the boating world is expensive.
