HI,

I own a 460EC of 1988 and I dislike the state of my windscreen rubber as the rubber seems to have got shorter an now makes for ugly edges on all possible corners of the windscreen surrounding.
I am not at my boat now and want to know if Sea Ray used a special rubber sealing of if its some kind of standard seal?

If special, where to buy?

When I take the old rubber out I intend to spray the aluminium black, it has already been sprayed silver by the former owner.

I intend to grind, prime and spray the metal when the glass is out, anything to sonsider when doing this?

As far as I know, you can only get that seal (there's a newer version) through Taylor (Sea Ray didn't make the windshield). Sometimes dealers will have the seal in stock.

I've heard of some people using door/window gasket material from a hardware store.......

And as a side note and not so much to the point, .... SeaRay are the ones who sprayed the rub rails and window frames in silver....

No, you don´t know how mine looks like, I am sure it wasn´t Sea Ray ;)

I assumed that because the windscreen on my 268 looked different, it was just Aluminium without silver overspray.
Raoul

PS: Thanks for the Tayler-tip
