Not sure if in the right place as a newbie..so apologize if I am wrong.
I have 1994 SeaRay Sundancer 270 I bought new. My windless works fine with the foot buttons on the bow. I also have an up/down switch in the cockpit, that doesn't work fine. It will let it go down, but will not raise it. The dealer suggested the switch was bad. I did not test it, I just replaced it ($90). Still doesn't work, so I decided to check the new switch. It is a ohms out just fine on both sides of the switch. I turned it over no change. So I disconnected the switch and just touched the wires together. Same issue...it goes down, but not up. It has a common hot wire in the center and an active wire on each pole of the switch. Keep in mind it works fine with the two foot buttons on the bow.
I am not sure what to do from here other than take it to the dealer and have them spend many hours trouble shooting. Is there anything upstream I could check on my own, such as a relay, a solenoid, etc.
The boat only has about 200 hours and has always been kept indoors in climate control. No obvious signs of corrosion.
Thanks,
David
