My windless deck switches not working any suggestions? Also where is the solenoid located for it. Trying to be handy and take care myself.

I had the same problem. After removing the deck switches, I found that just removing the corrosion from the contacts fixed the issue.

Be careful when you undo the screws that hold the deck switches down. When you pull up the switch and rubber cover you may find the wire leads are very short. It's VERY easy to drop a screw or nut down into the anchor locker (don't ask me how I know) and if that happens it WILL find its way to the bottom of the piled anchor chain/line.

thanks so much hope that takes care of it.

Start by checking the connections. My foot switches stopped working one day while we were at anchor and it was just one of the wire terminals disconnected in the anchor locker. Plugged it back in and it was working again.

On the Lofrans windlasses there is an in-line fuse for the foot switches located in the anchor locker. There should be only one solenoid for the windlass. It will have two low current connections for helm and foot switches. It should be located in the ER, very close to the batteries and windlass high current inline fuse/breaker. The attached photo shows the foot switch fuse on the 280. It is the thing that looks like a capped plug. Note it is not part of the control box, it is just sharing the same mounting screw.

Henry this happend to me just recently. Ended up being the breaker on the solenoid in the bilge. Check there first (easier). In my case, you could turn on the switches on the dash (light lit up) and also hear the relays clicking in the dash when you pressed up/down... but no activity at the windlass end of things. Foot switches were also dead as a result of the breaker popping on the solenoid.

Henry, You left off the contortionist part!

I have just ordered a boroscope, for times like this.

When I did mine I was able to pull the bow in tight against the dock (with the stern sticking out) and stand there. I still had to take the hatch cover off.
