I have a 2007 280DA Sundancer, just purchased (used) last month. Went out today let the anchor down, using the control on the dash, worked fine and no problems. When we got ready to leave, I went to retrieve the anchor using the foot controls on the bow, it came up fine no problems. I went to let the anchor down to clean off some mud, using the foot controls, and all I heard was a clicking noise in the compartment where the anchor is stored. No movement in the anchor from either control after trying both. All I hear is a click when I use the foot controls.
If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate your input. Thxs

There is a fuse in the anchor locker (pancake style 5 or 10 amp) that is for the foot switches. There is a main breaker in the ER. Hop in there facing the bow and look forward of the batteries. It will be on the port side wall/ It has a lever that you can reset. It happens from time to time.

Most likely the breaker but if that is not the case, look in the anchor locker and check the electrical connections to the motor itself. I had one of the terminals break off a couple years ago due to corrosion. Finally, check the Imtra control box also located in the anchor locker. It is doubtful this is the problem but it is part of the whole configuration.

...if the breaker is good.

Break out the test light and see if the motor is getting power. If no, you can trace power to the control box and see if the relay is failing. They can be rebuilt, as it may corrode over time.

I had a similar problem on the 280DA, and ended up pulling the motor. What I ran into was the brushes and armature were making a poor contact. The motor was taken apart, brushes re-conditioned, and the armature was polished. While out, it was a good time to de-rust, and add a good paint job....FWIW, my symptom was slightly different where my motor was intermittent. It would sometimes get stuck going up (or down) and the only way to get it working was with a "big heavy thing" test (AKA hammer).

This can be a good DIY project with decent mechanical skills.

BTW - Welcome to CSR. I just realized this was your first post.

Get the knot out of the rope and hit the button……..This is not breaker or power related if it is clicking.
