Windlass won't pull up rope

Relays for Goode winlass are available from Advance etc. They are regular 3 pole selenoids, like old Ford starter selenoid. Take the old one with you for a match.

I think you may have a bad relay.. I had the same Goode windlass on my '06 330 Dancer, replaced it with a Lewmar. On removing the Goode windlass, found a relay ass'y inside the anchor locker area. You may need to get a meter in there and see if one of the relay's contacts is inop.. I think the motor reverses via the relay contact's...

Automotive relays are just a temporary fix. You have the same issue with moisture and the relay will eventually fail. Good has changed their control relays and now offer a complete set that are made together and are epoxy sealed. Its a plug and play change. You just replace the old relay assy. with the new one and reconnect the wires to the terminals.
