Where does everyone have their windlass thermal breaker located? Last year when Iinstalled it I put it in the ER because that was closest to the power source and so I wouldn't have always "live" high amperage wires running outof the ER . Of course it is protected by a fuse so if the cables did short out the fuse would pop.
But now after thinking about it maybe it should be closer to the helm. I am thinking worst case scenario; stuck in heavy weather trying to get the anchor unstuck and the breaker pops and it would be dangerous to try and get the engine hatch open to reset.
So, where do most people have theirs mounted? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
