windlass install question

i have an 83 sundancer 260. i just bought this boat 3 days ago, an have no experience with these boats.
i want to install a power windlass, i have an anchor locker, but my question comes from the fact that my anchor locker is prob a 12x12 square with the same sized wooden lid. i understand a windlass has to drop line in locker right at mounting position. it doesnt appear to me the the wooden lid of my locker will b structual enough to take the pull of the anchor coming off the bottom of the lake.
does anybody have a similiar setup that can comment on how to mount. or poss. some pictures of your setup i can see?

I am going to be adding a windless to my boat this winter. I'll post some pics when its done.

Perhaps you already know it but, make sure you run very heavy gauge wire direct to the battery (properly fused) as a windlass draws a lot of current.

thanks about the wiring tip, ill make sure to remember that, but more interested in any pictures of windlass installed an whether or not i should install on the anchor locker lid.
