Windlass help

Just got a new to me 2002 410 DA. Trying to get the windlass to work. When I turn on the helm switch I hear a click from the engine room but no power to the rocker switch. Is there a dedicated windlass battery? Looked all over for a breaker.

In the owners manual, they usually have the location of parts of various systems. Due to the high amp draw of the windlass, there are usually some solenoids and maybe breakers in the engine room. Try looking on the ER forward bulk head. Again, the manual (digital copies are available on line) general show it.

I had the exact same event. The click is the relay.
Problem turned out to be I missed connect the ground for the windlass to the battery bank in the engine compartment when I prepped for launch after winterizing

OK. I found the solenoid behind the DC panel. Just clicks when the rocker is pushed so I jumped the solenoid and it works.Time to locate a new solenoid.

I am troubleshooting the same problem. My windlass works from the foot buttons on the bow but not from the rocker switch. I swapped out the solenoid, and it just clicks from the rocker switch. There is a 120a breaker just above the solenoid that doesnt seem to be tripped. Any ideas where to check next?

That’s strange it works up front but not at the helm rocker. It’s getting power from the solenoid that’s not it. I would check for power at the rocker.

The rocker seems to work because when I activate it the solenoid clicks.

There is a fuse up in the anchor locker. In mine it was an inline glass fuse. I replaced with an automotive style, that solved it for me.
