Has anyone experienced a dead windlass, that seems like its getting no power at all? Mine is silent. The breaker switch on the dash (rocker switch) doesn't light up either. I checked the fuse found in the anchor locker, and looked behind the dash for another and didn't find one. Is their another fuse possibly in the engine room? Thanks.

There was a recent post with a simmilar issue. A breaker did exist in the ER, and turns out that the breaker was tripped.

On our 2002 280 Sundancer, there is a single windless breaker on the port side of the engine room. It's hard to get to and hard to see. Not sure why it's in the location it is. Look for the large power cables that attach to the breaker. I should add, the breaker does not look like other breakers. It has a small lever that pops out when tripped. When we bought the boat, the delivery captain made a special note to show me the location. Seems he has been on calls for a "dead windless" where the only problem was the tripped breaker. I've had it trip only once and that was my fault. I was pulling the boat with the windless instead of just lifting the anchor. Good luck and hope it's just a tripped breaker.

Thanks for the tips. Mine stopped when I was running it up and it was hung. There were loads of screaming kids, stereos etc and I didn't hear it catch fast enough. Seemed like it just tripped something out. I'll be havin a look this weekend. Thanks again.
