There may be as many as five breakers for the windlass if the 480 is a "280 only longer". There should be two to three low current breakers on the switch side of the relay for up down & off. On our 280 these are contained on the starboard switchpad EIM. Given that the 280 switchpad has switches for things not available on the 280 and available on the longer DAs, you should have them as well. Ours is located stbd side helm in a little cubby at your feet. Other two are hidden and not so obvious. There is an in line breaker for the foot switches that is mounted in the anchoor locker. Ours is close to the windlass controll box. On the high current side of the relay there is a fuse in the ER port side close to the batteries where the windlass power cables go forward.
After hours of searching I found it - in a main control box in the bilge, this one is a house-style breaker lined up with about five more breakers. You have to take the face plate off the big box to see them though. Thanks for the tips Henry.

Be prepared...
My breaker kept blowing early last season and I had it replaced and it still blows (not as often. I don't "pull" boat with it so that is not the issue. 2 other 48DAs I know have the same problem. With that said it's in a stupid place, hidden behind that cover. First time it happened to me I couldn't find it (I was looking for the old type heavy duty breaker I had on the 390DA, that was out in the open near the windless battery bank) and ended up hauling the anchor (all chain rode) by hand crank.
Good to know Rich. Amazingly how closely our experiences were, I had a 390 DA previously as well and had the same thing happen. At least that breaker was out in the open (still tough to find that first time). I think the problem this time was that my wife pulled it up from the bow for the first time, she saw it get good and snug on the bow and decided to give it one more pull for good measure. That popped it and I can understand why - hopefully it was an isolated incident though ...
