Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and also new to the Sea Ray world so please bare with me :). Last month I purchased a 2005 260DA, very nice boat, very well maintained. Well now I have an issue with the windlass. I tried to drop anchor over the weekend but didn't check the chain locker and sure enough it was fouled up and it prevented the chain from going out. So I tried the windlass in and out couple of time and then it stopped working all together. I was able to retract the chain by hand but no response from the windlass motor. I figured the breaker just tripped or the 5Amp fuse popped. Fuse is OK but windlass breaker slot under the wet bar sink is not populated. The manual shows a breaker right by the motor but I can not locate one up there neither.

Has anyone experienced such problem? Any ideas would help.

Boat is located in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and I currently boat on the Great Lakes and Michigan's inland lakes.

Thank you

Since the breaker is not populated I'll assume that the previous owner installed the windlass... so no telling where he might have put the fuse/breaker. You'l have to trace around to find it.

Good luck and welcome to CSR!

Ok, I will have to look in the engine bay. Some people suggest to look by the batteries.

Check around the engine compartment - if it was done properly it should be close to the battery. It may look something like this pictured (not necessarily this exact one) but I have seen them installed other places too unfortunately.

It looked just like that and it was right by the batteries. Got it working again. Thank you all
